Custom Data Exports

This article explains the information a district can collect and share to most efficiently request an export. This functionality requires a Basic or Premium plan — refer to our pricing here.

Forefront supports exporting data for Basic and Premium subscription holders. To set up a custom export, the first step is to contact a member of our team to make sure that the export is built to meet your district’s needs. If you would like to set up a custom export, please send a request to support@forefront.education. We will need information about how to configure the export.

Information to Consider Regarding Exports

What data do you want exported?

Any data in Forefront can be exported. That includes current proficiency on standards and/or assessment data: overall scores or question performance. This is the most important question when building an export.

Which students should be included?

Often it is all students, though it may be a single or few grade levels for state reporting.

How often do you need a current export?

Nightly, which will be set up as a job to the SFTP server, is common for exporting standards.

Three times a year (or so) is more common for benchmark assessment data (DIBELs, USNS, FRS).

Once a year may be to meet state requirements (i.e. Kindergarten DIBELs shared to the state in spring).

Are there any export formatting considerations?

This includes if there are specific column headers needed or if the column order is relevant. You may also clarify the student ID type that is best.

Forefront Team Builds the Export

After receiving this information, our team will build an export to meet your specific needs. A job will then be set at an interval of your choosing to deliver data to the SFTP folder, where you can access this data safely and securely or if the job is less frequent, the job can be run as-needed manually. This article explains how to run an export manually options.
